Cheryl Cohen
Level 2 CrossFit Certified Trainer, CrossFit Olympic Lifting and Nutrition Certified Coach, Russian Kettlebell Challenge Instructor.
As the head trainer and founder of Desert CrossFit, Cheryl's skills as a fitness coach come from years of being a student in addition to over 10 years spent as a fitness trainer. In a constant search for the most efficient way to maximize results, Cheryl has found that training using functional movement produces life-changing benefits. That's the foundation of CrossFit!!! She utilizes a positive training environment and CrossFit's scalable intensity to coach individuals and groups of all ages and fitness levels. She has even developed specialized programs and classes for inactive and obese individuals (Fitness for the "Not‐So‐Fit"). Cheryl is committed to her own growth as a teacher, regularly attending relevant seminars and workshops which allow her to provide her clients with the best possible tools for success.
Cheryl uses CrossFit and kettlebell training to make exercise fun, competitive and exciting, while empowering her clients to continually conquer perceived limitations. Cheryl's passion for fitness coupled with her commitment to excellence allows her to help clients to overcome self-doubt and make long-term lifestyle changes. In fact, many of her clients say they never dreamed it possible to experience such dramatic changes in how they look and feel. Cheryl teaches her clients how to train safely while continually challenging themselves, so that when they're NOT with her, they can truly have fun and LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST!

Laura Keenan

Laura has been involved in fitness her entire adult life. “I started to see something missing in the gyms – I rarely saw anyone make any significant fitness level or body changes. I had no desire to train people in the traditional methods and was really looking for a workout that had a REAL impact on people’s fitness abilities. Right when I was really getting tired of the usual gym training regime, I met Cheryl and was introduced to CrossFit. I will never look back and am now an avid CrossFitter and Coach! The fact that it builds strength, power, agility, coordination, speed and sky rockets your aerobic capacity all in one short high intensity workout is amazing to me! Eric Crane
CrossFit Certified Trainer, CrossFit Nutrition Certified Coach, NSCA-CPT, KBA Level 2.
Eric Crane has been a professional trainer since 2006. He was first certified as a personal trainer through the NSCA in 2006. Eric started work at a mainstream fitness club in Manhattan NY, personal training. Working with a great team of trainers, he quickly gained knowledge and understanding of the fitness industry. He has experience with a large clientele base; from healthy to injured individuals, teenagers, seniors, celebrities, soccer-moms and high powered execs. Eric has trained his clients using a multitude of resistance and endurance training modalities, including to Kettlebell Athletics training certifications ('07 & '08). He was always in search of the best training methodology for himself and his clients, individually. Eric began CrossFitting at Desert CrossFit in La Quinta in December '08. He became Level 1 certified in February '09. From then on he knew he had found the training program that he was in search of, for himself and his clients. In April '09 Eric moved from New York to California. CrossFit, coaching CrossFit and correct nutrition are things of huge importance to him.
Rigo Hernandez
CrossFit Certified Trainer, CrossFit Kids Certified Coach.
After being a "gym rat" for several years, Rigo's interest changed after discovering CrossFit while in Idaho of June 2008. He was hooked! He saw great appeal in CrossFit's quick, intense workouts not only because they prepared him for his various athletic interests, but it also increased his stamina, endurance and overall strength. Six months later he obtained his Level 1 CrossFit Certification.
Rigo has many athletic interests. He is an avid runner and has participated in half marathons, 10ks's and a marathon. After 6 months of CF training he was able to improve his overall running time. He enjoys mountain biking and has also dabbled in Mixed Martial Arts. Rigo has found that CrossFit complemented each of these pursuits.
Rigo has 3 beautiful daughters, ages 17, 13 and 7. His love for CrossFit has tricked down to his children. The youngest daughter has been nicknames "roadrunner" at Desert CrossFit because she doesn't stop!
Rigo loves working with children. He is consistently able to make exercise fun and challenging for kids while helping them grow healthier, stronger and more prepared for a lifetime of fitness. He helps kds learn to set goals and overcome their perceived mental and physical limitations. He feels that CrossFit's universally scalable program is the perfect fir for challenging kids of all ages.

When Rigo is not working with kids, his own or others, he is working towards his own athletic achievements.
