As the head trainer and founder of Desert CrossFit, Cheryl's skills as a fitness coach come from years of being a student in addition to over 11 years spent as a fitness trainer. In a constant search for the most efficient way to maximize results, Cheryl has found that training using functional movement produces life-changing benefits. That's the foundation of CrossFit!!! She utilizes a positive training environment and CrossFit's scalable intensity to coach individuals and groups of all ages and fitness levels. She has developed specialized programs and classes for inactive and obese individuals (Fitness for the "Not‐So‐Fit") as well as one designed for seniors (Desert CrossFit Silvers). Cheryl is committed to her own growth as a teacher, regularly attending relevant seminars and workshops which allow her to provide her clients with the best possible tools for success.
Cheryl uses CrossFit and kettlebell training to make exercise fun, competitive and exciting, while empowering her clients to continually conquer perceived limitations. Cheryl's passion for fitness coupled with her commitment to excellence allows her to help clients to overcome self-doubt and make long-term lifestyle changes. In fact, many of her clients say they never dreamed it possible to experience such dramatic changes in how they look and feel. Cheryl teaches her clients how to train safely while continually challenging themselves, so that when they're NOT with her, they can truly have fun and LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST!

Jessey Gilbertson
Level 1 CrossFit Certified Trainer.
Teaching methods of movement from kickboxing, spin,bootcamp, kettlebells, and pilates, Jessey has been a coach since 1990. His athletic interests involve running 6 full marathons, 8 half marathons, 7 triathlons, cross country skiing and lots of golf. You can say Jessey has an obsession with physical fitness and is constantly seeking to improve his knowledge and understanding of physical development and mobility. His specialty is in mobility through flexibility while using the Pilates methodology and now applying Crossfit methods to accomplish an easy and free moving body. As a Level 1 Crossfit Instructor, he believes CrossFit is more than just a workout, it’s an essential component of well-being.
